Canterbury
Sound baths in Canterbury
Canterbury is about 28 minutes from Ramsgate, which puts it inside the area I travel to. The public hour is at my end. Everything else comes to yours.
There is no public Elevate Sound session in Canterbury. There is one in Ramsgate, seventeen miles and about twenty eight minutes away, at £25 for the hour. A one-to-one in Canterbury starts from £55 for the hour. A private group is priced when you ask.
I am not going to compare myself to anybody else running sound baths near you. What I can do is set out exactly what is in my hour, so you can tell whether it is the one you want.
What mine is, in full
An hour, lying down, with white crystal singing bowls and Tibetan bowls played live by hand. Tingsha and chimes at the edges. A guided settling and some breathwork at the start, and time at the end to rest before anybody gets up.
The Tibetan bowls are played live by hand. There is no gong. If a gong is the thing you are after, I have written up the difference between a gong bath and a bowl sound bath so you can go and find the right one.
Places are kept deliberately low. That is a choice about the room rather than a scarcity tactic, and it is the reason the door shuts at the start.
The drive, either way
Seventeen to eighteen miles, about twenty eight minutes. It is the same half hour whichever direction it runs in.
Coming to me: The Falstaff Hotel on Addington Street in Ramsgate. Doors open ten minutes before the start and shut at the start, so half an hour of driving needs a margin on top of it. The venue's own parking is at the rear and costs nothing, but it is first come first served, so it is not a reason to arrive late.
Me coming to you: somewhere everyone can lie flat, and a door that shuts for the hour. Tell me what the room is and I will tell you whether it works.
Worth checking first
Ask before you book, not after
- Sessions are for ages 16 and over.
- A sound bath is not suitable during the first trimester of pregnancy.
- Please get in touch before booking if you have sound sensitivity, epilepsy, or a health condition that may be affected by sound.
A sound bath supports rest and relaxation. It is not medical treatment and it is not a substitute for care from your GP. If you are not sure whether it is right for you, ask.
Two pages worth reading first
What to expect at a sound bath, and what to wear to a sound bath.
Every town I come to is listed on the Kent page. Margate and Whitstable also have pages of their own: sound baths in Margate and sound baths in Whitstable.
