Whitstable
Sound baths in Whitstable
Whitstable is about 26 minutes from Ramsgate, which puts it inside the area I travel to. The public hour is at my end. A one-to-one comes to yours.
Whitstable is about 19 miles from Ramsgate and about 26 minutes by car. My area is about a 30 minute drive, so Whitstable is inside it rather than on the boundary. A one-to-one starts from £55 for the hour.
There is no public session in Whitstable. The public hour runs in Ramsgate at £25.
How I measured that, and why it changed
Whitstable was first written up here as the far edge of what I cover, at 33 minutes. That figure came from a distance table. A routing source puts it at about 26 minutes, and that is the one now on record.
It is a small correction with a real consequence: the first version made me sound less available to Whitstable than I actually am. It is worth saying so rather than quietly swapping the number.
Dover and Faversham are the two that genuinely sit at the edge of the half hour. The full list, and the measured figure for the towns where one exists, is on where I come to in Kent. Two more towns have pages of their own: sound baths in Canterbury, about 28 minutes from Ramsgate, and sound baths in Margate, about fifteen minutes from Ramsgate.
Or come the other way
Half an hour, more or less, for a place at £25 at The Falstaff Hotel on Addington Street.
Parking at the venue is free and sits at the rear of the building. Nobody reserves you a space, so give yourself the ten minutes the doors are open rather than the minute the session starts.
- A yoga mat
- A blanket or warm layers
- A cushion
- A bottle of water
- An eye mask, if you like one
Mats are not provided, so that first one is the one to remember.
If this is your first one
What to expect at a sound bath covers the hour itself, and what to wear to a sound bath covers the clothes and the kit.
